July 1, 2009 Congratulations to our very own PR Director Dave DeHem who was recently elected as President of the Michigan Auto Racing Fan Club. For many years Dave and the other MARFC Directors led by Bill Banhart have worked very hard to make the "Fan Club" one of the most respected in America. MARFC hosts racing related charity events, Christmas Parties and Picnics. A benevolent fund is maintained for injured drivers as well as the famous annual MARFC Banquet held every January which recognizes and honors Michigan drivers who have won a championship that year. MARFC Directors also visit member tracks thought the year in an effort to increase membership ($10.00 Individual- $15.00 Family) and meet and greet other Fan Club members that are allowed entry for free on that night. Many months of the year MARFC takes their meeting on the road and allows local drivers to tell the fans about their racing program. Dave succeeds Bill Barnhart who will be assuming Dave's former duties as Vice President. As President Bill and his staff enabled MARFC to flourish and grow. The 2009 AutoValue-Bumper to Bumper/Michigan Legends Series has made a change in the schedule. The race at Spartan Speedway originally scheduled for July 10, 2009 has been moved  to July 3, 2009. February 11, 2009... We are please to announce that the Auto Value-Bumper to Bumper/Michigan Legends Series will again be hosting both a Dirt and a Pavement INEX National Qualifier. The Dirt INEX National Qualifier will again be held at Crystal Motor Speedway in Crystal, Michigan on June 20, 2009. Crystal is a high banked 3/8 track with fast action and great racing room. A warm up event will also be held at Crystal on May 9, 2009. The Pavement INEX National Qualifier will be held at Angola Speedway in Angola, Indiana. Angola, Indiana is located on the Indiana, Michigan and Ohio borders with easy access from the Toll Roads and I-69. Angola Speedway is a 3/8 mile high banked asphalt track that Legends Racers have come to enjoy the multi-groove racing. On April 20th the 14th annual Michigan Legends Driving School will take place and we strongly recommend that all 2008 Rookies enroll. The 45th Annual Michigan Auto Racing Fan Club (MARFC) Banquet will be held this Saturday January 19, 2008 in Warren Michigan. The MARFC organization is made up of race fans, race car drivers, race crews, race promoters and others that have an interest in Auto Racing in Michigan. The Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Michigan Legends Series has been honored for the last 13 years to have our Champions and Rookie Of the Year recognized by at the annual MARFC Banquet. This year Levi Rouster, Rick Kilbourn, Randy Gallagher, Scott Menlen and Chance Rice will receive an award from MARFC as well as many of the other champions from race tracks and series across the state. The annual AutoValue Michigan Legends Series Winter Meeting is scheduled to take place on Saturday February 9, 2008 at Kart to Kart in Sterling Heights, Mi at 12:00 pm. We will have motel information posted by early next week. Anyone with your team crossing the border will need either a Birth Certificate or a Passport. We have also attached a Homeland Security Form that you will need to fill out and take with you to cross the border. This form should have all your racing equipment and misc tools that you are carrying with you. Just a reminder, we will not have the parts trailer at Grand Bend, so if you need parts before you leave for Grand Bend please give us a call.
